I've out-done myself with this one. It took around 15 hours to complete, I've never spent so long on anything but it feels worth it. A lot of effort went in to this. Here is the first draft refinery and here are some of the final draft details of the work.
I used a reference of myself posing specifically for the picture. I'm so Yarr
I learned vast amounts about painting in photoshop during the course of this. I thought it was about time I drew up a nice light background to something but never realised painting beaches was so difficult, they look so simple.
note: This has nothing whatsoever to do with pirates of the carribean!
I was very tempted to call this 'buffet'
I'm getting a lot of smack downs for lighting. Imagine you're using a camera at the beach and the flash goes off, though there is editing in progress.
hahah the BG took about 6 hours, no kidding, it's what I spent the longest on! Dem skillz are harder but nyes to learn Demz myne! thank you for faving this instantaniously Tori!
P.S. Jork just commented on Victoria Ba.Ed(Draco) and wants you to pose with your legs showing so I can do another one of you

That is amazing.
My biggest problem with it however, is one of my pet niggles. I really hate it when people put big watermarks over everything. yesss, I know you don't want your work stolen, but there are more subtle ways of ensuring that your work doesn't get passed around
silly bex.
Love the tail on the beached whalefish, And the clouds and reflections in the water are fantastic.
For a bit of Constructive C. now though! The blood from the head seems too far "back" on the canvas, if you get what I'm saying? Perspective wise it should be closer to the foot. Also, maybe if the horizon was *slightly* curved. Just ever so slightly. It seems very horizontal at the moment.
I love this seemingly rough look you've got going, even though I know it's precisce and clear and organised. I love that sort of rough but organised style, its the one I wish I most had. Remind me to show you this "NS2" concept art. Blew me away.
But this is lovely, you truly have outdone yourself.
A-Course Ima Fave It!! Its by far one of the most awesome in your gallery!
And as for the jork/posing thing.... Pfft. Yeah. Good luck on that one Jork.
It's a peeve of mine too, between you and me. The second I loaded this up was the second I went 'hey. I know I wanted those there but it's a little too present'.
Oh yes! I see what you mean about the blood lol hello gravity welcome to my picture and that horison suggestion is a great idea, I'll get right on that too. haha it's a growing list but this might actually be 'good' soon!
It didn't matter how hard I tried I just couldn't get it any neater! haha. to get any quality in anything you need a wonderfully high resolution, unfortunately my pc had problems keeping a file a third of the size i needed it to be just to get it this way *urg don't talk to me about lag*
haha no you remind me! What's ns2?
My little dream right now is to be good at this. With time and practice I'll get there.

you have a 'becky's art stuffs' folder? You're so lolhead. I'm glomping you a lot today. weird. I barely ever use that emote. anyhow. yeah I'm on a lappy right now for one so the contrast changes every time I tilt my head and unless your monitor is exactly the way mine was when I as making it, it's just not going to look the way I want it to. *sigh*
But now I have a list of things to fix and I want to get on it right this instant but luke is using photoshop. lol, that's the trade off. His lappy has the internet and my pc had photoshop. It's not exactly convenient.

This pic is awesome. I particularly love the blood effect in her shirt the most. The way you've done the sand over the tail is awesome. The background kicks butt!! nice job
