Deviousness |
Nice to see how she is evolving into something more... uhm. More... I'm not sure what word to use. Something more physical perhaps. Not sure. In the beginning the sky and the lady appeared to be almost one. Like she was carried by the wind and now with each update she appears to... well, have more character. More refinement, more, now I found a proper word: Substance!
A bit like a dream taking shape. I mean that in a positive way and it's really quite intriguing!
Your effort has been totally worth it, the attention to detail is superb. I detect a faint scar on her shoulder; I don't know if my eyes are playing tricks on me, but I think this is a very awesome detail!
The floral design in her hair is gorgeous. Are they white lilies? I would have loved to have seen this motif played upon! Perhaps in a flourishing white dress with some kind of slightly ruffled sleeve or dress neckline.
But I must reemphasize; its a lovely, complete image even without that
I can't help but feel that the shadow the left side of her face is cast in (our right) is a bit strong for the lighting of the bright open environment she's standing in. I perceive that the ambient lighting would diminish that shadow somewhat. Blurring my eyes, the current value seems a bit dark on that half of her face (not that I know anything about lightsources LOL ><
I imagine you painted the shadow being cast from her bangs, where the side of her face recedes into the cover of her fringe, which is appropriate if there is lighting coming from behind her/from the right of the image (which there probably would be, given the openess of the sky!), but the lighting of her brow and shoulder in particular suggests a(nother) light source which is a bit more front on (as in coming from us, the viewer). I feel that keeping to what this light-source suggests, it would diminsh the shadow a bit more as it got closer to the centreline of her nose/mouth/chin.
Please don't take this as negative criticism! Its a lovely painting and a great addition to your portfolio
Keep up the great work!
Oh dear, and sorry for the lengthy comment.
